Is College For Me?

Updated: Jun 3, 2020

For the longest time I would I ask myself if college was right for me. Not because I didn't like it, I loved it. Though, life seemed to give me too many road bumps I would stall or my grades would suffer. I thought that maybe I am not the right person for college, I will never finish. I need to live my life first and every time I thought I had everything under control, something else would happen and I would lose focus.

Every one will have a different experience with college, and maybe some find that it really is not for them. You do not need a degree to be successful, I believe that. For me though, all I can say is that I am really glad that I stuck with it, despite the exhausting journey. It was worth it to me, because I took advantages of resources and gained so many unbelievable experiences. After all of that "failure" that happened, it became impossible to see myself going to academic conferences, presenting my research to Anaheim Public Utilities, or even becoming president of my school's Anthropology Students Association. I was never the person to do any of this stuff, but with participating in my classes and forcing myself to be more vocal I was able to do all of that and more.

There are many outlets for people, and many other career paths without a degree. Though I encourage everyone to at least go college and work for a certificate program or any degree. There are amazing people waiting to be met, and exciting experiences that can unravel.
